Sparking Excitement In Science
ABOUT MR. SCHWIETERMAN
My name is Ryan Schwieterman and I am in my 3rd year of teaching at St. Michaels. I teach 7th and 8th grade Science as well as 8th grade Reading and 7th grade Health (4th Qtr only). I am a St. Michael alumni myself having attended St. Michaels beginning in the 5th grade. From there I went to Bishop Watterson High School and then onto the University of Dayton where I studied Middle Childhood Education with concentrations in Science and Social Studies. While teaching, I too am also a student as I am working on my Masters in Educational Administration with the hope of becoming a school principal.
Along with teaching, I am also the JV Boys and Girls Tennis coach at Bishop Watterson High School. During my high school years, I played Varsity tennis beginning my sophomore year. For the past seven years, I have taught tennis to kids and adults at Northam Park in Upper Arlington.
When I'm not teaching (school or tennis) I enjoy playing golf and being outdoors. I play any course out there but my favorites include Royal American and Champions. I am also a licensed OHSAA football and basketball official. I enjoy traveling and one day hope to see many of the Earth's Natural Wonders. In college, I studied abroad in Dublin, Ireland for a month and traveled to Scotland for the British Open at Royal Troon. I also went to the Dominican Republic during the Spring Break of my Junior year to volunteer at an EcoTourism facility that was being established in the Cloud Mountains and later returned to the country with my family.
I hope you enjoy the site and share in the enthusiasm of Science!!
